You will also need to have a commercial driver’s license with air brake restriction if your vehicle exceeds 26,000 pounds GCWR.

In order to obtain this endorsement, you must:

  • Be at least 21 years old

  • Have a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with an “H” restriction for hazardous materials

  • Pass an examination on general knowledge about doubles/triples trucks and their use in Texas
