Read the passage.
There was once an old man who was very weak. When he sat at the table, his hands trembled, and he sometimes spilled soup on the table cloth. His son and his son's wife didn't like this, so they made him sit at a little table in the corner, and not at the big table with the rest of the family. They gave him his food in a rough wooden bowl so it wouldn't break if he dropped it. The grandfather used to look towards the family eating at the big table with his eyes full of tears.
Once, the man's little grandson began to gather some bits of wood on the ground. "What are you doing?" asked the father. "I am making a little bucket," answered the child, "for father and mother to eat out of when I am big."
The man and his wife looked at each other and began to cry. Then they took the old grandfather to the table, and from then on always let him eat with them, and said nothing if he spilled a little soup.
(adapted from The Old Man and His Grandson by The Grimm Brothers)

Read the passage.
Last Wednesday I went with my big brother to volunteer at the animal shelter. We saw all kinds of dogs and cats, and even one iguana! I was given the best job: to show visitors around and introduce them to the animals. I told them the REAL stories of the animals, like how Minty the cat used to be the queen of the cat kingdom. I helped get two animals adopted that afternoon—volunteering is great fun!
