KVS Primary Teacher Recruitment 2025: exam stages and current position
The KVS Primary Teacher (PRT) recruitment under Notification 01/2025 is a specific direct-recruitment cycle, not a general KVS eligibility test. What this KVS PRT cycle covers
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) issued the joint notification on behalf of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) and Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS). This product is limited to the regular KVS Primary Teacher post. It does not combine that profile with PRT (Music), Special Educator (PRT), or unrelated NVS posts, which have distinct vacancies or requirements.
The application window opened on 14 November 2025 and closed on 4 December 2025. It is not open for new applications. The original notification listed 2,684 vacancies for regular KVS PRT. Corrigendum 3, dated 10 December 2025, revised that profile’s total to 2,933. This is the revised notification count—not a guarantee of final appointments. The notice describes vacancies as tentative and subject to increase or decrease.
Current stage: result and interview
CBSE’s 14 September 2026 press release declared Tier-II results for Primary Teachers and Junior Secretariat Assistants. It says the recruitment stage differs by post, and that for posts with interviews, the process is continuing; interview schedules and call letters are to be provided through candidate logins after scheduling is finalized. The notification includes PRT among posts with an interview. Therefore, shortlisted PRT candidates should use their own official login for current status and instructions. The public notice does not establish a universal interview date.
The selection scheme assigns 85% weight to Tier-II marks and 15% to the interview, which is worth 100 marks. This distinction matters: the interview is a meaningful remaining assessment for shortlisted candidates, but preparation for it should not be confused with the completed written stages or with an open application opportunity. For later recruitment cycles, confirm the notification afresh rather than assuming the 2025 rules will carry forward.
Understand the two written tiers
Tier-I was an OMR-based, qualifying screening examination lasting two hours. For posts other than NVS MTS, it comprised 100 questions for 300 marks across reasoning, numerical ability, basic computer literacy, general knowledge, English competency, and one selected Modern Indian Language. The notification places expected Tier-I knowledge for PRT at senior-secondary level. It specifies three marks per question and a one-mark deduction for a wrong answer. Tier-I shortlisting was intended to screen candidates for Tier-II, not determine final merit by itself.
Tier-II was a separate, post-specific subject-knowledge examination. The official scheme describes a 2.5-hour test combining pen-and-paper and OMR components: 60 objective questions for 60 marks and 10 descriptive questions for 40 marks. Wrong objective answers attracted a 0.25-mark deduction. The detailed PRT syllabus should be taken from the official recruitment materials, not reconstructed from coaching summaries or a different teacher profile.
For candidates preparing for a future comparable cycle, this structure suggests two different kinds of practice. Timed objective sets can build accuracy across Tier-I areas and expose careless errors; written responses for Tier-II need organized explanations, clear language, and subject knowledge. Since Tier-II is post-specific, candidates should not assume that a generic teacher mock test represents the PRT paper.
How shortlisted candidates can prepare for the interview
Start by reading the official notification and any instructions visible in the candidate login. The public notice says call-letter and schedule information for interviews will be provided through the login. Keep the registered contact details and login access available, and follow the actual instructions rather than relying on an assumed interview format. The sources checked here do not provide a fixed list of interview questions or a detailed interview rubric, so neither should be treated as official.
A sensible preparation routine is to revisit the core responsibilities of a primary teacher and practise explaining decisions aloud. For example, rehearse how you would make an explanation understandable to young learners, check whether pupils have understood, and respond constructively when a learner struggles. These are preparation exercises, not claims about a prescribed interview question. Use examples drawn from genuine teaching, training, or classroom experience, and explain what you did and what you learned without overstating your role.
Practise concise answers as well as fuller ones. A useful structure is: state the teaching aim, describe the approach, explain how you would check learning, then mention how you would adapt if the first approach did not work. Keep examples truthful and specific. If asked about a subject area, explain the concept at an age-appropriate level instead of relying only on technical terminology. Review your submitted application and supporting records so that your account of qualifications and experience is consistent with what you provided.
Use practice strategically, not as a substitute for notices
For written-exam revision in a future cycle, separate foundational practice from a full simulation. Use topic questions to diagnose weaknesses in reasoning, arithmetic, computer basics, general knowledge, and language skills; then take timed mixed sets to practise switching between areas. Review incorrect answers and unanswered questions: determine whether the cause was a knowledge gap, a misread prompt, a rushed calculation, or an avoidable guess. With negative marking stated for both tiers’ objective sections, accuracy deserves deliberate attention.
For descriptive practice, write responses within a realistic time allowance and review whether each answer addresses the question directly, develops a coherent explanation, and uses readable language. The notification does not prescribe an individual time limit for each part, so do not invent one. A self-imposed practice limit is simply a study tool, not an official exam rule.
Official updates and practical next step
Use the CBSE recruitment notice index for the recruitment’s announcements and the detailed Notification 01/2025 for the original scheme. Corrigendum 3 revised PRT vacancies; it did not replace the entire notification. The latest profile-specific public update verified here is the 14 September 2026 Tier-II result notice. As of 26 October 2026, the sources checked do not confirm a public interview date for every shortlisted candidate. Check the official login for personal updates, and treat any later notice as authoritative for its stated scope.
For candidates who have completed Tier-II, the practical next step is not to repeat an already completed application process: confirm whether the portal shows interview shortlisting, read the call-letter instructions when issued, and prepare examples of clear, reflective teaching practice. For someone planning ahead, study the official pattern as a reference while waiting for a new notification. Easy-Quizzz is not KVS, NVS, or CBSE; practice questions can support revision, but official notices govern eligibility, schedules, and selection.
