How do you feel about the introduction of Class RE licence in NSW?

There is Study guide of driving product practice learners test of Australia country

A Class RE licence, also known as a restricted rider licence, is the most common type of motorcycle licence in NSW. It allows the holder to ride any motorcycle that has an engine capacity of up to 660ml. A learner rider is required to hold a Class RE (on-road motorcycle) driver licence.

A person who holds a Class RE (on-road motorcycle) licence may ride any on-road motorcycle if the rider is:

Accompanied at all times by an NSW driver licence holder who holds an unrestricted Class R (motorcycle) licence with 18 months or more experience and who is supervising the Learner Rider, or, accompanied by an Australian driver licence holder who holds an unrestricted Class R (motorcycle) licence with less than 18 months experience and who is supervising the Learner Rider. If the Learner Rider’s supervisor has held their Class R (motorcycle) licence for less than 12 months, a Learner Rider must not ride a motorcycle that exceeds 200cc in capacity, or Accompanied by another Learner Rider who holds a Class RE driver licence and both Learners are supervised at all times by an Australian driver licence holder who holds an unrestricted Class R (motorcycle) licence with 18 months or more experience.

A person holding a full australian driver’s licence may also take direct supervision of a learner rider. It is the best practice learners test that you can use for passing your motorcycle license exam.

What was the purpose of Class RE License?

The Restricted Rider licence was a temporary measure introduced on 1 July 2014 as part of the Road Safety Action Plan 2013-17 to improve motorcyclist safety by reducing the number of inexperienced riders on the road. The steps taken in the Road Safety Action Plan 2013-17 were intended to address a concerning trend in motorcycle casualties in Western Australia during that period.

The Restricted Rider licence was replaced by the Graduated Licensing Scheme for Motorcycles (GLM) on 1 July 2016.

The purpose of a Restricted Rider licence is to help you build your riding skills. The licence restricts your riding to within certain areas and limits the power of the machines you can ride.

If you have a Restricted Rider licence, you can only ride motorcycles that: are approved for learner riders, have a power output of not more than 150 kilowatts (kW) if they have a manual transmission, have a power to weight ratio of not more than 150 kilowatts/tonne if they have an automatic transmission. Using practice learners test software is a great way to prepare for the motorcycle license test. We offer free sample practice learners test that you can take to see if our simulator is right for you or not.

How long did it take to become a Class RE licensed?

The learner licence waiting period is 6 months.

You can, however, complete the riding component of your CBTA (Compulsory Basic Training Assessment) and get your learner licence after 3 months. This means you can apply for your restricted licence after 9 months.

There are 2 ways to ride a motorcycle on your learner licence:

  1. You must be supervised at all times by a full licence holder who has held their full motorcycle licence for at least 24 months.

  2. If you are riding a LAMS approved motorcycle (Learner Approved Motorcycle Scheme), you may ride unaccompanied but you must abide by the LAMS restrictions, which include:

a. A maximum engine capacity of 660cc

b. A maximum power to weight ratio of 150kW/tonne

c. Maximum torque output of 80Nm between 2,500rpm to 4,500rpm

c. A minimum weight of 180kg for motorcycles with single-cylinder engines

d. A minimum weight of 190kg for motorcycles with multicylinder engines

e. A minimum weight of 260kg for motorcycles with automatic transmissions.

What is the easiest way to get a Class RE license?

Getting a motorcycle license can be a fun and exciting process, but it’s important to make sure you know how to ride your bike before you take off on the open road.

An online practice learners test can help you prepare for the written portion of your licensing exam, so you’ll know what to expect when the time comes to take the real thing. To help you get started, we’ve put together a list of the best practice learners test available online. With these free practice learners tests, you can brush up on your knowledge of traffic laws and learn how to properly operate your new bike.

You don’t have to spend money on a motorcycle training course or study guide in order to pass your written test: You can find everything you need for free online.

What are some of the challenges you have faced in obtaining your license?

The way the laws are structured in Western Australia, it is impossible to obtain a class R licence by doing 120 hours of supervised driving.

A restricted rider licence (R) requires you to complete a motorcycle training course, pass the practical test, and complete 120 hours of supervised driving. However, the only way to get a motorcycle licence is by completing a motorcycle training course (this is mandated by law). This means that you already have your motorcycle licence before you begin doing your 120 hours of supervised driving. The practice learners test is helpful especially for new applicants who are not familiar with the rules and regulations of riding a motorcycle. The practice tests can help you to understand the theory and make your knowledge more detailed.

Why is this a problem?

Well, if you hold a full R licence while doing your 120 hours of supervised driving, then you are allowed to have as many passengers on a bike as it has seats - even if those passengers are not wearing helmets!

The Department of Transport (DoT) will not issue you with an R-E learner’s driver’s permit unless you hold a full R licence. With our practice learners test, you can practice the motorcycle test and get a high score in no time. Practice is everything, especially when it comes to learning new things. The more you practice the better you will get at it! We have an excellent selection of completely free motorcycle license tests that you can take online.

What are the benefits of getting a Class RE License?

Depending on your age and your experience, getting a class restricted rider licence can help you to get more familiar with riding on the road before taking the full test.

The Class R licence allows you to ride:

  • Any motorcycle that has an engine capacity not exceeding 660ml

  • Power to weight ratio not exceeding 150 kilowatts per tonne

  • Power-to-weight ratio is calculated by dividing the power rating (kilowatts) of the motorcycle by its mass (in tonnes).

  • You must be 16 or older to get a Class R licence. You can get a Class R licence if you’re under 18 if you hold a current learner licence.

What are the steps to obtaining a motorcycle license in Australia?

Australia has a Graduated Driver Licensing (GDL) system to make sure that motorcycle riders are properly trained, tested and supervised before they graduate to unrestricted riding.

There are three steps to getting your motorcycle licence in Australia:

Learner licence: This is the first step, and it allows you to ride a learner approved motorcycle (LAM). A LAM must have an engine capacity no greater than 660ml, and cannot have a power-to-weight ratio greater than 150kw/t. Motorcycles that have been specifically designed for off-road use may also be ridden on the road with a learner licence if they are registered and comply with the design rules and noise restrictions set out by the state or territory’s road authority. The practice learners test is helpful for all riders who want to pass the test on the first attempt.

Provisional licence: When you’ve completed your required training and testing, you’ll be issued a provisional licence. This will allow you to ride unsupervised during daylight hours, but not at night.

Unrestricted licence: When you’ve held your provisional licence for an adequate period of time (usually 12 months), you’ll be able to upgrade to an unrestricted motorcycle licence. With this type of licence, you’ll be able to ride any size motorbike at any time of day or night. If you want to ride a motorcycle, but don’t have the skills to pass your practical test, then use the NSW Rider Knowledge Test and get your licence.

What do you think the biggest challenges are that people face when learning to ride a motorcycle?

Learning to ride a motorcycle is a difficult task and I have met many people who find it very challenging. Some of the biggest challenges are:

  1. Learning how to balance on the bike at low speeds.

  2. Learning how to use the clutch and throttle while moving.

  3. Learning how to shift gears while riding.

  4. Learning how to ride in traffic.

  5. Not panicking or freezing when something goes wrong.

What do you think is the most important thing to know about riding a motorcycle?

I think the most important thing to know about riding a motorcycle is that you need to be in the right state of mind. Riding a motorcycle is not as easy as it looks, you need to be alert and focused every single time you ride. You have to take care of your body and your mind, and when something is not working properly you shouldn’t ride. If you want to pass the motorbike driving licence in a few days, follow our advice and get ready for your exam with our practice learners test.

Riding a bike is an intense experience and it’s easy to lose focus if your mind is wandering or you are tired or stressed. I always try to remember the reason why I started riding a bike because it’s easy to get lost in the fast lane when you are living this lifestyle.

What are some of the skills you’ve to learn to pass your test?

This is the list of skills you need to pass the test:

  • Parking your motorcycle safely in a confined area and starting off again.
  • Riding in a figure of eight exercise.
  • Riding at slow speed around an obstacle.
  • Riding over road humps without lifting your feet from the footrests.
  • Riding with one hand on the handle bar.
  • Weaving between obstacles cones are usually used.
  • Dismounting and remounting your motorcycle while it moves.

What is the benefit or harm of LAMS?

There is Study guide of nsw rider knowledge test of Australia country

There are some benefits, but mostly harm from LAMS.

Benefits:

  1. Less people will be killed or injured due to crashes (maybe)
  2. You can look good on a little bike and maybe feel like a big boy/girl
  3. You can get your licence faster (this might be seen as a benefit if you’re not ready for a bigger bike)
  4. You won’t have to wait so long before your mate’s second hand 250 is affordable for you because of lower re-sale prices.

Harm:

  1. LAMS bikes are terribly boring to ride after a while because they’re severely underpowered and their handling capabilities are more limited than bigger bikes because the chassis and suspension has been designed with a much lighter rider in mind. Motorcycles are supposed to be fun and exciting, but these bikes are neither of those things.

  2. A lot of people who ride full sized motorcycles will say “why would you want to downgrade?” with regard to LAMS riders who have moved up from smaller bikes, which is potentially harmful for the ego of some riders (I’m not saying I agree with this statement, but it’s probably true).

Australian road rules for motorcyclists are the same as for drivers of other motor vehicles, with a few exceptions. NSW Rider Knowledge Test is essential for those who want to get their motorcycle license. In this practice test, you can check your knowledge of the English language and it will be useful if you are planning to take exams for a driving license in Australia.

The main differences are:

Motorcyclists must ride with at least one hand on the handlebars (if carrying something, you must carry it securely using a basket, pack or container).

Motorcyclists cannot sit on another person’s lap.

As a motorcyclist, you may move out of a line of traffic to overtake another vehicle. You may also ride side-by-side with another motorcycle or two abreast in a single lane of traffic (provided the speed limit is not marked as 80km/h or more).

A motorcyclist under 18 years of age must wear an Australian Standard approved safety helmet. A passenger under 18 years of age must wear an approved safety helmet unless they are in an enclosed cab. (Note: although wearing one is not compulsory for riders over 18 years, it’s recommended that all riders wear an approved safety helmet.)

What is the process to get your full motorcycle license in Australia?

To get a motorcycle license in Australia, you need to be at least 17 years old. You’ll need to get a learner’s permit by passing a written test on traffic rules and road signs. Then you can take a pre-provisional course, which involves both classroom and riding instruction. Finally, you’ll need to pass the actual road test to get your full motorcycle license. If you are planning to buy a motorcycle, NSW Rider Knowledge Test is essential.

If you’re 16 or older, you can apply for your learner’s permit by taking a written test at any registry or service center. You’ll need to bring documentation proving your identity and residency, such as a birth certificate or passport, proof of address (like a utility bill) and two other forms of ID that include your signature. You’ll also need to fill out an application form and pay the fee (currently $24 for cars and motorcycles).

If you pass the written test, you’ll be given a Learner Rider Training Certificate (LRTC), which will allow you to start practicing on public roads with a supervising rider over 21 years old who has held their full license for at least 2 years. They must ride the same kind of vehicle that you’re learning on - if they have only a car license, they can’t supervise you while riding a bike.

What was the most difficult thing about studying for your motorcycle license?

The most difficult part of the learning process is mastering your motorcycle’s controls. Do not try to learn to ride a bike before you have complete mastery over its control.

The biggest obstacle facing me at the time was learning how to balance on two wheels. I thought that getting my license would be as simple as getting my driver’s license and then I’d be good to go, but it wasn’t as easy as that. It took me about four months to get my motorcycle license, and even then I couldn’t pass the test the first time. A NSW Rider Knowledge Test is given here. You can go through this practice test and check your performance. The questions are very easy to solve, so you will not have any problems in answering them.

What are some common mistakes that you made when learning how to ride a motorcycle?

It would be great to avoid these mistakes when learning how to ride a motorcycle.

  1. Don’t try to shift gears with your foot: It’s very hard to do this, and you’ll end up stalling the engine. Use your left hand for the gearshift, and your right foot for the rear brake (it’s on the same side as the rear brake).

  2. Don’t look at the ground: In order to avoid falling down, you need to look where you’re going. If you look at the ground or at the front wheel, you will move in that direction. You want to look at where you want to go; then turn your head and body in that direction.

  3. Don’t lean too far into corners: When riding a motorcycle, you need to lean into corners in order to avoid falling over. This can be dangerous if you are not aware of it. In order to learn how to do this safely, practice by riding around in circles while standing still on your motorcycle (without moving forward or backward). You will feel how your body wants to fall over when leaning into a corner, but if you keep your body straight up and down, you will stay upright.

  4. Don’t ride without protective gear: A helmet

What are the tips for passing the motorcycle license test in Australia?

Practice makes perfect, as the saying goes, so you’ll want to make sure you put in plenty of practice time before taking your written test. Spending some time with the practice test for a motorcycle license can be helpful as well.
